After a request today from a client to assist with the setting up of a desktop shortcut, it is worth another reminder that we can make the whole process very easy for you.
Just to go back to the problem, in order to use Project Administrator Project Management Software, you need to put a command line in the desktop shortcut. This is located by right clicking the shortcut, selecting properties, and entering the line in the target section. The line looks complicated as it contains three paths.
- Path to MSACCESS.exe
- Path to PA5.mde
- “/wrkgrp” and the path to PA.mdw
It might look something like this:
“C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\MSACCESS.EXE” “C:\Users\Program Files\Project Administrator\PA5.mdb” /wrkgrp “C:\Program Files\Project Administrator\Workgroups\PA.mdw”
The whole process can be simplified if you download our Shortcut Generator from http://www.projectperfect.com.au/downloads/Utilities/ShortCutGenerator.zip This wizard takes you through three browse actions to locate the files. You then generate the command line (similar to the one above) and paste it into the shortcut.
Also remember that the PA icon is loaded in the installation so you can set the PA icon by right clicking the desktop shortcut, selecting properties, change icon and browsing to the Project Administrator folder.
